Fact Check: Did Mamata Banerjee Call BJP Leader To Seek Help?
Kolkata: BJP has made a serious and startling allegation against West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
They have claimed that Mamata called BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s close aide Pralay Pal, seeking the latter’s help in Nandigram. Mamata is contesting against former Trinamool Congress heavyweight Suvendu from Nandigram constituency.
The first of eight phases of polling in West Bengal was conducted on Saturday. Nandigram will vote on April 1.
BJP Bengal shared a 2-minute, 52-second audio clip of the alleged conversation between Mamata and Pralay on Twitter and posted: “Didi called BJP district vice-president and pleaded for help in Nandigram. Pishi is definitely losing Nandigram, her fear is evident enough in the call!”

The voice sounds like Mamata’s, but the authenticity of the tape could not be verified.
The saffron party has complained about the tape to the Election Commission.
In the audio clip, Mamata can be heard requesting Pralay for help, but the latter says he was humiliated in Trinamool Congress, and he and his family won’t betray the BJP.
