Fact Check: Will Ayodhya International Airport Be Named After Valmiki?
New Delhi: Ayodhya is fast transforming into a major city with fantastic connections.
The Ayodhya railway station — redeveloped at a cost of around Rs 240 crore – has been renamed Ayodhya Dham Junction.
Now, there are reports of the new international airport getting a new name.
The state-of-the-art airport, which has been is developed at a cost of over Rs 1450 crore, was initially named ‘Maryada Purshottam Shri Ram Ayodhya International Airport’.
The Uttar Pradesh government, however, is planning to name the new airport ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham’, ANI reported on Thursday quoting sources.
There has been no word from the Yogi Adityanath government on naming of the airport.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to make the announcement on December 30, when he will visit Ayodhya to inaugurate the airport and railway station, flag off Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains on new routes, as well as lay foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 15,700 crore in the state.
Ayodhya is gearing up in style for the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Temple on January 22, 2024.
