Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday asked the distributors and dealers of cooking gas to strictly comply with the rule pertaining to delivery of LPG cylinders to the consumers.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra directed the dealers and distribution companies to ensure that refill of LPG cylinder is delivered to the consumers within 48 hours of booking.
Asking the dealers not to make the consumers wait for long, he made it clear that failure to ensure strict compliance will invite action.
The direction was issued at a meeting with petrol, diesel and LPG dealers held in Bhubaneswar, the Minister said.
He said the meeting was held with the officials of the companies, dealers and representatives.
Noting that there is a provision to deliver LPG cylinders within 48 hours of booking, Patra said the dealers have been directed to ensure this or else action would be taken.
The officials and dealers of petrol and diesel have also been asked to ensure quantity, quality and behaviour.
Inspection of petrol pumps will be conducted regularly in the state to ensure that there is no adulteration and action would be taken in case of any violation, the Minister said.o
