Fake Certificate Racket In Odisha: Opposition Alleges BJD Link
Bhubaneswar: A day after targeting Odisha’s BJD government over fake certificate issue, opposition BJP and Congress on Wednesday hit out at the ruling party alleging that its leaders have links with the racket.
Mounting a scathing attack on BJD, senior BJP leader and opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi showed photographs of prime accused in fake certificate case, Manoj Mishra with former Minister Susanta Singh.
Alleging a major conspiracy in the racket, he alleged that Manoj Mishra was running the racket under government patronage and doing frauds to the tune of crores of rupees.
The senior BJP leader alleged that several BJD leaders are involved in the racket and Manoj Mishra was running the entire operation with the help former Minister.
Accusing the state government of shielding the main accused, he claimed that the racket is even spread outside the state.
Expressing similar views, veteran Congress leader and MLA Narasingha Mishra alleged that the racket was flourishing under the patronage of the ruling party.
Stating that the Assembly Speaker should cal an all party meeting to discuss the issue, Mishra said the ex-Minister’s role in the racket should be examined.
Senior Congress legislator Santosh Singh Saluja had on Tuesday mounted a blistering attack on the BJD government over the fake certificate issue and alleged that ruling party leaders have links in the fraud.
Refuting the allegations made by the opposition leaders as baseless, BJD MLA Bhagirathi Sethi said no BJD leader has any link in the fake certificate racket.
The opposition parties are in the habit of making wild and baseless charges, he said.
