Bargarh: A joint team of drug inspectors from Sambalpur and Bargarh and police on Saturday busted a fake COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing unit at Rushuda village under Bheden police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, the team raided a unit being run by one Prahalad Bishi and seized a large quantity of fake COVID-19 vaccines, packets, powder and chemical materials.
“All fake vaccines with COVID-19 markings (stickers) have been seized,” drug inspector Sasmita Deheri told the media.
Police said that the counterfeit drug was to be sold in the open market as COVID-19 vaccines.
Further investigation is underway.
