Rourkela: Police have busted a fake currency notes printing unit operating at Kendudihi village under Hemagiri police limits in Sundargarh district on Sunday night.
Three persons identified as Sadananda Khamari (25), owner of the unit, Baruna Khamari (19) and Prakash Khamari (33) have been arrested in this connection.
A police team received a tip-off that the fake note printing unit was being operated from a mobile shop and raided the spot. Following search, three counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 each, a computer and one printer were recovered from the shop.
The accused persons used to manufacture the fake notes after purchasing paper, ink and printer from Chhattisgarh, sources said.
Police have started investigation to find out the involvement of other persons with the racket.
