Family Members Donate Retired Headmaster’s Body To Medical College In Odisha
Berhampur: The body of a retired headmaster was donated by his family members to a medical college in Odisha’s Ganjam district for the benefit of students.
According to sources, family members of the retired school headmaster in Chikiti area of the district donated his mortal remains to MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur.
The body of Bhaskar Sahu (77), who passed away on Sunday, was handed over to the authorities of MKCG Medical College and Hospital in the presence of his family members and organ donation campaigners.
Sahu, who was suffering from various ailments and undergoing treatment in the medical college and hospital, breathed his last on Sunday, his son Rabi Kumar was quoted by TOI as saying.
“His last wish was to donate his body for helping medical students,” said Asha Bharati, granddaughter of the deceased.
“Therefore, we decided to donate his body to the medical college,” said Asha, a lecturer.
