Berhampur: A farmer of Ganjam district allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Sunday.
The farmer has been identified Kailash Sabar (55) Uluma village under Turubudi panchayat of Patrapur block. He was immediately admitted to Patrapur PHC where he died.
Kailash was worried as the incessant rain induced by cyclone ‘Jawad’ damaged his standing ripened paddy crops and took the extreme step, said family sources.
He had some outstanding loan and we lost our hopes of bumper harvest as we were unable to lift the paddy from the field.
