‘Jungle Cry’, an inspiring story of 12 underprivileged tribal boys from Odisha who made it big at the under-14 Rugby World Cup championship in London in 2007, is all set to hit silver screens across the globe.
As per reports, the movie will be releasing in the US, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. A special screening of the movie will be held in Wales on March 10.
Informing about the movie’s global release, filmmaker Prashant Shah said, “Jungle Cry’ is truly an inspiring film that promotes education, sports and helps eradicate poverty and create patriotism in every nation. We are very excited to release it to a global audience of cinema goers in March.”
In the movie, Bollywood actor Abhay Deol will be seen playing the role of rugby coach Rudraksh Jena who had trained tribal boys from Odisha to play rugby at the international level. .
Speaking about the movie, Abhay said, “Jungle Cry is a story that defines nothing is impossible. It is an incredible story and I am really proud and honoured to be a part of it. With the movie set to be released across the globe, it will get the audience to witness the amazing journey of young Indian tribal boys of my country and their achievement.”
Besides Abhay Deol, the cast includes well-known actors Emily Shah, Atul Kumar, Stewart Wright and Julian Lewis Jones. Distinguished sportsmen Nigel Owens and Colin Charvis will be seen doing a guest appearance in the movie.
‘Jungle Cry’ has been directed by Sagar Ballary and produced by Bollywood Hollywood Productions. The trailer of the movie was released in Cannes 2019.
