Bollywood celebrities have expressed concern over the devastation caused by cyclone Fani in Odisha and urged fans on social media to donate for rebuilding of the state. The severe cyclonic storm made landfall in Puri on May 3 and left behind a trail of destruction in 14 districts – Angul, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar. The death toll in the cyclonic storm reached 41 on Wednesday.
