FIR Against BJP’s Amit Malviya Over Tweet On Rahul Gandhi; Check What He Posted
Bengaluru: An FIR was filed against BJP’s IT Cell chief Amit Malviya at High Grounds police station here on Wednesday over a tweet and video he posted about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, reported ANI.
The video in question, which was posted by Malviya on June 17 with the caption “Rahul Gandhi is dangerous and playing an insidious game”, has animated depictions of a person who wants to “stop Modi at any cost” and takes Rahul’s help in the matter.
It seems the video spoofs Rahul’s speeches and claims that he is being used by foreign forces who wish to break India.

The FIR, by former MLA and Karnataka Congress leader Ramesh Babu, was registered under sections 153A, 120b, 505(2), 34 of IPC.
BJP responded by claiming that the case against Malviya was ‘politically motivated.’
“The FIR filed against Sri @amitmalviya is politically motivated. Plain and simple. Case is registered under 153A and 505(2) of IPC for his alleged statement against Rahul Gandhi. Both the above sections deal with promoting enmity between groups. So, what is Rahul Gandhi? An individual or a group or a class. We will challenge this in the court & ensure justice,” tweeted Tejasvi Surya, BJP MP from Bengaluru South.
Congress leader and Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge defended the FIR decision, saying that the case was filed after seeking legal opinion.
“BJP always cries whenever they are asked to face the law. They have a problem following the law of the land. I want to ask the the party that which part of the FIR has been filed with a mala fide intention. We have done it after taking legal advice and if they think that it is of wrong intention, face us legally,” Priyam said.
