Bhubaneswar: A major fire broke out at a private coaching centre at Acharya Vihar here on Tuesday.
However, no injury or casualty was reported in the mishap as the classes had not started at the time when the incident occurred.
According to available information, computers, furniture, books and other articles kept in the second floor of the building were completely gutted.
On receiving a call from the authorities of the competitive examination coaching centre, two fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames after an hour-long effort.
Though the exact reason behind the fire outbreak is not yet known, locals suspect that an electrical short circuit might have led to the mishap. They also alleged that there were no fire safety equipment in the institution.
