Yadari (Telengana): Smoke and sparks were found to be emanating from the wheel of Charminar Express near Aler railway station in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Saturday evening.
Reports claimed the incident in the fifth coach of the train triggered panic among passengers. Initial reports said the blaze erupted while the train was within the station limits.
A SCR statement on Sunday said the situation was promptly handled by on-duty railway staff, who extinguished the fire.
“Train No.12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram Charminar Express which left Hyderabad yesterday I.e., 25th April, 2026* was stopped at ALER Railway station of secunderabad Division of South Central Railway at 19:47 hrs due to BRAKE BINDING in S5 coach. Smoke and spark was observed in wheel of the coach which was extinguished immediately by the railway staff. The train departed at 20.10 hrs to its destination Tambaram. No damages and no casualty,” the statement from South Central Railway reads.
The train had resumed its journey after 8.10pm after undergoing checks.
According to reports, no casualties were reported in the incident.
