New Delhi: A fire broke out after a boiler blast in a factory at Dombivli in Maharastra’s Thane district on Thursday. The incident was reported at the chemical factory in Phase 2 of the Dombivli MIDC area.
As per initial reports, four boilers of Amber Chemical Company exploded, triggering a massive blaze. Due to the fire, drums containing chemicals started bursting, shattering window panes of the factory.

The fire has spread to surrounding houses, damaging them as well. Fire brigades were rushed to the spot and firefighting operations are underway. So far, no casualty has been reported in the incident. However, several people were injured in the explosion and fire, some of whom are reportedly critical, News18 reported.
Condoling the incident, Ravindra Chavan, Maharashtra’s Minister of Public Works (Excluding Public Undertakings), urged people in the surrounding areas not to panic.
He said the administration has been asked to deal with the firefighting operations. The Minister also said that the matter will be investigated thoroughly and strict action will be taken against those found guilty, the report added.
