Mumbai: A fire broke out on the Mumbai set of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s ‘Ramayana’, triggering a brief scare at the shooting location. No injuries have been reported.

According to India Today report, FWICE president BN Tiwari confirmed the incident, describing it as a minor fire and assuring that no one was injured.

Tiwari said the blaze began in a tent outside Prime Focus Studios, where ‘Ramayana’ is being shot, and was quickly brought under control before it could spread to other areas.

He said, “A few days ago, there was a fire incident at a nearby location, following which we reached out to all producers and asked them to ensure that proper safety measures were in place. However, due to carelessness, this fire incident happened on the set. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the damage was also minor. However, this should serve as a warning to them and other film teams to be more careful and take adequate precautions against such accidents.”

A fire broke out at a temporary shooting set linked to director Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ at Film City in Goregaon East on Monday evening. According to the BMC Fire Brigade, the blaze was reported at 4:02 pm and brought under control by 4:55 pm. No injuries were reported. https://t.co/4azYGy6KLZ

Reports suggest that Hustle and Pati Patni Aur Panga are also being filmed in the same vicinity at Prime Focus Studios. The fire reportedly caused no injuries, and shooting resumed after the situation was brought under control.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is being released in two parts, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi portraying Sita and Yash essaying Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey portrays Lakshman.

The cast also includes Arun Govil as Dashrath and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi.

‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’, the first instalment of the two-part saga, is scheduled to hit theatres in November 2026, followed by the second part during Diwali 2027.

The film is being mounted on a large scale for an international audience, with DNEG handling the VFX.
