Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out at a popular snacks and mixture shop at Saheed Nagar in Bhubaneswar in the early hours on Saturday.
Sources reported that a thick blanket of smoke engulfed the area at around 5.30 am. The fire reportedly started from oil stored in a hot pan inside the shop, ‘Mukharuchi’.

On being informed, firefighters rushed to the site and contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other shops in the locality. The ingredients stored in the shop for preparing mixture, were reduced to ashes, said Assistant Fire Officer Manoranjan Rout.
Though the reason behind the fire is yet to ascertained, short circuit is suspected to have led to the mishap.
