Cuttack: Firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees were seized in Jagatpur area of Cuttack city by the twin city Commissionerate Police early on Monday. Three persons have been detained in connection.
Jagatpur police station IIC-led team raided several factories at Padmapur, Mahajanpur and Trilochanpur where firecrackers were being illegally manufactured and stored. The value of firecrackers seized is around Rs 10 lakh, according to reports.
It may be recalled that the Odisha Government has banned the sale and use of firecrackers between November 10 and 30 in the wake of COVID-19 situation.
