Puri: To attend to medical emergencies of devotees visiting the Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to set up a first-aid centre in an air-conditioned intermodal container, near the temple.
The first-aid centre will be inaugurated on April 14, the auspicious day of Maha Bisuba Sankranti.
Chief Administrator of SJTA Dr Krishan Kumar said devotees coming to the temple and sevayats as well temple officials can avail medical services. In emergency provisions will be made to shift the patients to an advanced medical facility or hospital.
The first-aid centre will be manned by suitably qualified medical staff and will be stocked with sufficient medical supplies with the help of District Headquarter Hospital. For smooth operations of the first-aid centre, one nodal officer each will be appointed by CDMO & the temple office.
