The much-awaited ‘RRR’ has had a roaring opening, with the SS Rajamouli-directed film earning Rs 257 crore on the first day itself.
Featuring Jr NTR, Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt, the Telugu film has sent fans into a tizzy. However, viewers at a theatre in the US were left disappointed when the 3-hour movie was stopped midway.
No, there wasn’t any technical glitch.
Authorities at Cinemark North Hollywood in California, where the first show of RRR was being screened on Friday, were not aware of the film’s length and thought it was over at the halfway mark.
Anupama Chopra wrote that everyone, including her, was frustrated after the screening stopped.
“First time this has happened! Went to @Cinemark North Hollywood #firstdayfirstshow of #RRR. Saw first half but not second because theatre had not ingested it. Manager said they didn’t receive instructions that there was more. Unbelievably frustrating! #Wanttoweep,” film critic, journalist and author Anupama Chopra tweeted.
