First-Phase Hearing Concludes, Next Round Of Promotion Adalats By Feb-End

Bhubaneswar: Altogether, 1465 cases were heard and disposed of during the first phase of Promotion Adalat held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and five Additional Chief Secretaries at six different places over three days – January 28, 29 and 31.

On Friday (January 31), 447 applicants serving under administrative departments such as Forest and Environment, Skill Development and Technical Education, Excise, Information and Public Relations, Fisheries and Animal Resource Development, Cooperation, Tourism, Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Home, General Administration and Public Grievance, Industry and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise had registered their names.

The cases were heard by Development Commissioner S.C. Mohapatra, Agriculture Production Commissioner P.K. Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary Steel & Mines R.K. Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development P.K. Jena and Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Environment Dr Mona Sharma. 

On January 28, 402 applicants had registered their names in the six adalats and 616 the following day.

The Chief Secretary has directed the administrative departments to ensure definite action on observations and directions of various adalats within the scheduled date, an official release said.

He also asked them to fix responsibility on erring officers becuase of whom eligible personnel did not get promotion in time, it added.

It may be mentioned that 8909 stalled promotion applications were received online. Of these, 2309 applications were shortlisted for the first-phase hearing.

The second round of Promotion Adalats will be held on February 27, 28 and 29.
