Five Arrested For Thrashing Two Murder Accused In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested five persons for severely thrashing two murder accused near the CRP Square in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Informing the media on Sunday, Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash said that the locals severely thrashed two brothers—Sagar Prusty and Sudhir Prusty—after they killed Tukuna Das alias Jatia inside a Bolero pick-up van. After the incident, police arrived at the spot took the two accused into their custody.

As the police were about to take them to the Nayapalli police station, the irate locals dragged the two accused out of the police van and severely thrashed them, and damaged the police vehicle.

“As the locals took the law into their own hands, police arrested five persons last night on the basis of the CCTV footage. The five persons have been booked under several sections under the IPC,” Dash said.
