Five COVID Warriors, One Dubai Returnee Among 16 New Cases In Cuttack City

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation on Friday tweeted about 16 new cases being detected in the city in the last 24 hours.

Among the new cases, 13 have been reported from institutional quarantine centres. While four among them are contacts of earlier case detected in Acharya Harihara Post Graduate Institute of Cancer, two are from SUM Hospital isolation ward and one from AIIMS’ isolation ward. Three COVID warriors of SCB Medical College and Hospital here have also been infected. The remaining three are contacts of an earlier positive case from Cuttack Sadar.

The two local contact cases are also COVID warriors, while a Dubai returnee at paid quarantine centre has also tested positive for the virus.

With these fresh cases, the COVID-19 tally in Cuttack has gone up to 229. The virus has so far claimed two lives in the city.
