Berhampur: Police on Sunday detained as many as five persons in connection with an alleged murder at Brahmanchhai village in Ganjam district.
Two platoons of police force have been deployed in the locality to prevent any untoward incident.
According to available information, a group of seven miscreants allegedly attacked two persons of Brahmanchhai on Saturday and fled the spot. One of the injured died on the spot, while the other was rushed to a local hospital in a critical condition.
Though the reason behind the incident is yet to be known, police and locals suspect it to be the fallout of a political enmity.
