Five Held For Cutting Birthday Cake With Sword In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A birthday bash landed four youths and a minor boy in trouble after Commissionerate Police arrested them for allegedly cutting the cake with a sword.

The arrest was made after a video of the birthday celebration went viral on social media.

In the video, the birthday boy was seen cutting a cake placed on a car’s bonnet using a sword as his friends cheered him on. All the people in the purported video are residents of a slum at Nayapalli in the city, sources said.

“One Pankaj Rana and his friends were celebrating his birthday around 7.30 pm on November 24. While celebrating the birthday, Pankaj used the sword to cut the cake and a video of the celebration was shared on social media,” ACP Sanjeev Satpathy said.

They also engaged in a verbal spat with the local residents who opposed them, he added,
