Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly will remain shut till July 31. The decision was taken after five staffers tested positive for COVID-19.
“After BJP’s Nilagiri MLA Sukant Nayak tested positive, swab samples of those who had come in contact with him were collected for testing and reports of five came out positive on Thursday,” informed Speaker SN Patro.
Nayak had attended a meeting of an assembly committee before testing positive for the virus on July 6.

Those infected have been advised home isolation and the entire premises will be sanitised during this period, the Speaker said, adding that contact tracing is on and swabs of other employees will be sent for COVID-19 test.
