Kamakhyanagar: A five-year-old girl died after the wall of her house collapsed at Gandhia Gunduripasi village in Dhenkanal district late on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Milli Nayak.
The minor girl was sleeping with her parents when a portion of the rain-soaked wall of the house collapsed and fell on her. Rain has been pounding the district for past two days.
Hearing noises, a few neighbours ran to the spot but could not save the child.
On Monday night, a man had died while his wife sustained critical injuries when the wall of their house at Bedasahi village under Ghasipura block in Keonjhar collapsed due to incessant rain.
The deceased was identified as Bhaskar Dehuri.
His wife Tilotama Dehuri was admitted to Anandpur hospital for treatment.
