Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda will soon be connected to nine cities with private carrier SpiceJet starting flight services between the industrial town in Odisha and Guwahati via Patna from May 1.
Director of Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, Kishore Kumar Senapati on Tuesday informed that a 78-seater Q400 flight will operate daily between Jharsuguda and Patna. The same aircraft will fly to Guwahati from Patna.
According to the schedule, the SpiceJet flight will arrive at Veer Surendra Sai Airport at 4:20 pm and take off for Patna at 4:50 pm daily from May 1.
Flight operations from Jharsuguda airport started on March 31, 2019. While SpiceJet operates flight from Jharsuguda to cities like New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata, regional operator Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, connects to Raipur and Bhubaneswar.
A Boeing 737 Mumbai-Jharsuguda-Bengaluru flight of SpiceJet started operations from the airport on January 12.
