Foreign Campuses In India: UGC Panel Report Soon
Bhubaneswar: The UGC, with an aim to attract foreign universities to set up campuses in India, has set up a panel to prepare rules and regulations for these universities. The panel, constituted on April 11, will come out with its report soon.
Under NEP 2020, the Indian government has suggested setting up Indian colleges abroad and foreign colleges in India offering courses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
The government has also advised colleges to restructure their credit value based system, so students pursuing higher degrees in India could avail benefits from it through the partnership of a foreign university.
A recent survey conducted by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) found that eight top foreign universities are interested in setting up their campuses in India, which comes under TIMES best 50 colleges.
