Bhubaneswar: A group of foreign nationals allegedly entered the Biraja temple in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday, triggering sharp reaction from devotees.
As per information, around ten foreign nationals, including some women, forcibly entered into the temple premises and went around the complex in the afternoon.
The incident has sparked resentment among the devotees in the area. Locals said the foreign tourists also visited a Shiva temple on the shrine premises. An argument also erupted between the foreigners and police personnel deployed at the shrine when the cops tried to stop them.
It was alleged that the priests of the temple failed to take any step to prevent the foreign nationals from moving around the shrine complex.
Locals said the temple administration and priests should have tried to prevent the foreign nationals from entering the shrine.
