Kendrapada: A case has been registered against BJD leader Ankit Pratap Jena and his sister Aishwarya Pratap Jena in Town police station here for allegedly defrauding SSB Electricals, a Cuttack-based firm, of Rs 48 lakh.
Ankit, son of former minister Pratap Jena, contested the 2024 Mahanga Assembly election unsuccessfully. Aishwarya is the managing director of Emphoria Works Private Limited, where Ankit previously held the same role. The company had issued work orders to SSB Electricals for electrical equipment supply and related work in Kendrapada.
Aravind Tripathy and Ganesh Swain, managing directors of SSB Electricals, filed a complaint on Saturday, alleging that Emphoria Works was not clearing pending Rs 48 lakh for 33 KV and 11 KV underground cable work, despite repeated demands.
A day later, Emphoria’s manager, Debashis Das, filed a counter FIR, accusing Aravind and Ganesh of obstructing the company’s projects in Kendrapada, leading to financial losses.
Police have registered cases against Ankit and Aishwarya under sections 318(4), 296, and 3(5) of BNS and also against Aravind and Ganesh under sections 351(3), 296, and 3(5) of BNS.
Kendrapada Town IIC Dilip Sahoo stated that investigations into both cases are underway.
Meanwhile, Ankit denied the allegations and termed the complaint against him and his sister as false and motivated.
