Bhubaneswar: Two complaints have allegedly been filed against former BJD MP from Odisha Pinaki Misra with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The senior advocate is accused of financial irregularities, dubious property transactions, foreign remittances via trusts, money laundering and repeatedly asking questions on India’s most sensitive defence assets in Parliament. “One of the complaints is centred on alleged irregularities in property purchases and financial dealings, while the other details his conduct in Parliament where he asked specific questions related to India’s nuclear submarines, missile systems and key defence agreements,” Opindia reported, quoting the FIRs.
The complainant alleged these issues involve national security and corporate conflicts of interest. It further stated that the complaints have been accepted by the authorities concerned and further investigation is underway.
The former Parliamentarian is yet to comment on these allegations.
Pinaki, in the past, has been linked to the ‘cash-for-query’ controversy involving Trinamool Congress MP and his now wife Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani.
