Cuttack: The students of 1999 batch of Cambridge School in Cuttack has launched an alumni trust that aims at meeting the educational expenses of students from economically disadvantaged families.
The Cambridge School Alumni Trust, which was launched on the occasion of the batch’s 25th year reunion event on Saturday, will be helmed by OSL director Charchit Mishra, who is also a former student of the 1999 batch, as its president and eight others as its office-bearers.
As a part of its launch, the trust extended scholarships to two students of the school, Susmita Mohanty and Priyanka Digal, whose families had been facing financial hardships in meeting their educational expenses.
The scholarships will cover their entire educational expenses including fees, books and uniforms for 2025-26 academic year.
Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said the trust aims at bringing about a positive and meaningful change in the society.
More than 70 students of the batch, the then principal Brother Thomas, all former teachers and the current head of the institute Thomas John attended the reunion which was organised on the school premises.
