Berhampur: The alumni meet of NIST University in Berhampur brought together former students from diverse professions and proved a meaningful collaboration and bond between the university and its alumni.
The event, held at the Icon Premier Hotel in Bengaluru on January 5, witnessed participation of over 100 alumni showcasing the strength and diversity of NIST’s alumni network.
The meet was attended by Dr Sukant K Mohapatra, president of NIST University, Dr Priyadarsan Patra, vice-chancellor and Dr Bishnukar Nayak, registrar in-charge.
In his keynote address, Dr Mohapatra highlighted the enduring bond between NIST and its alumni. “NIST is a second home for all our alumni,” he remarked, encouraging them to actively contribute to their alma mater through initiatives in research, innovation, workshops, technical talks and student placements.
Dr Patra emphasised the transformative impact of alumni engagement on society and the university’s growth. His words resonated deeply, inspiring attendees to strengthen their connection with the institution.
The attendees, who shared nostalgic anecdotes from their college days, said they cherished the memories that continue to hold a special place in their hearts. Several alumni members took the stage to share their inspiring success stories, offering valuable insights drawn from their professional journeys. Their experiences served as motivation for both peers and the university community. Several current and former faculty members joined virtually and interacted with the alumni.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, former members of the Team NMS (NIST Music Society) delivered soulful performances. Mementos were presented to all alumni in attendance, marking the university’s appreciation for their continued support and dedication.
The event was coordinated by Dr Preeti Ranjan Sahu, associate dean of Student Welfare, Prof Purnendu Mishra, secretary of the NIST Alumni Association, Prof Mitu Baral, alumni coordinator and Pitambar Sahu.
