Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the fire mishap in the Sadguru COVID Hospital in Cuttack, the Odisha Fire Services Department has decided to conduct an inspection of fire safety systems in all COVID hospitals in the state.
Talking to the media on Monday, DG, Fire Services Satyajit Mohanty said that the fire services personnel will visit the COVID hospitals every 15 days to conduct fire safety audit and emergency drills. The objectives are advisory and educative in nature to respond to any fire emergencies swiftly with available resources.
Mohanty also said that the Fire Services Department will appoint one official of each COVID hospital as the Emergency Response Officer who will submit the inspection report to the next official in charge of the second shift. The Emergency Response Officers will submit the daily report to the hospital authorities who will hand over the report to the Fire Services personnel once every 15 days.
