Bhubaneswar: To promote traditional culture and cuisine of the state, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) is gearing up to celebrate ‘Raja Mahotsav’ at Exhibition Ground (unit-III) here from June 13 to 16.
“It is an attempt to recreate the different elements of the festival, popular in rural areas, by erecting swings and serving special delicacies like poda pitha, manda pitha, arisha, kakara, chakuli and ghuguni, muga bundi, khira gaja, dahi vada, chhena poda and Raja pana (beetle) to local residents and tourists,” OTDC marketing manager Alok Mishra said.
Special arrangements have also been made at Sambalpur Panthavinvas, where special cakes (pitha) of western Odisha like khuda manda, kadamba and mooga papchi will be served to visitors. The festival is also being organised at the Panthanivas in Puri, Cuttack, Chandipur, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Barkul, Gopalpur, Konark and Paradip, he added.The OTDC has been organising the event since 2011.
