The victims were immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. Three of them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack following deterioration of their health condition.
According to locals, the incident took place after a woman attempted to commit suicide by pouring kerosene on herself following a verbal duel with her mother-in-law. The woman’s husband, mother-in-law and daughter, who attempted to rescue her, also sustained injuries in the incident.
