Bhubaneswar: Four new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the city in the past 24 hours, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed on Thursday.
One patient was detected from home quarantine linked to an earlier positive case at Kalinga Vihar.
The other three were local contact cases, BMC tweeted.
Of these, one patient belonged to Aiginia in Patrapada area. The second is an employee of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The third belongs to Dumduma area with secondary contact of one of the earlier positive cases at Kalinga Vihar.
BMC said further contact tracing of the new cases is going on. “Primary contacts and neighbours are being home quarantined and will be on active surveillance,” BMC tweeted.
A day earlier on Wednesday, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary had informed that there are 11 active coronavirus positive cases in the Odisha capital. These included nine among who have either returned from other states or have travel history.
