Chhattisgarh: Four members of a family, including two children, from Odisha, were allegedly brutally hacked to death at Tadanbadi village in Durg district of neighbouring Chhattishgarh on Thursday night.
The victims have been identified as Bholanath Yadav, Naina Yadav and their 10-year-old son Pramod Yadav and 7-year-old son Mukta Yadav.
According to sources, Bholanath Yadav, a resident of Balangir’s Sindhkela, had moved along with his family to Durg 10 years ago in search of employment and did farming on rented land.
While bodies of Bholanath’s wife and children were recovered from an open field, he was found dead in his house.
Preliminary investigation suggests past rivalry as the reason behind the brutal murder and sharp objects were used in the crime. ” “Prima facie it appears that the murder was committed by a person known to the family. Further investigation is underway,” SP Abhishek Pallab said.
Two elder sons of Bholanath are currently living in Balangir with their maternal grandparents.
