Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha will receive heavy rainfall from July 27 due to a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a mid-day bulletin, said an associated cyclonic circulation tilting southwards is most likely to intensify into a fresh low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around July 28. Under its influence, there will be heavy rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places across the state from the afternoon of July 27 which will continue for three days till July 29.
The bulletin also said there will be thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places in the state during the period.
In view of heavy rainfall in the state, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts:
July 25
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal and Nayagarh.
July 26
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Boudh.
July 27
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, Balasore, Khurda, Malkangiri and Koraput.
July 28
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Kendrapada.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Sambalpur.
July 29
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Angul, Sambalpur and Bargarh.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh and Sonepur.
