From Surat To Ganjam On Cycle: Migrant Odisha Worker Returns Home
Berhampur: Not waiting for the lifting of the lockdown 2.0, a migrant Odia worker arrived at his village Bishnuchakra of Karadabadi panchayat in Buguda block in Ganjam district on Tuesday afternoon. He cycled from Surat for 14 days.
Talking to mediapersons, Duryodhan Pradhan (27) said that he had no work in Surat as the company he was working for had closed its unit. With hotels and restaurants closed, he had no food to eat so he decided to leave for his village on his cycle.
However, upon reaching, the villagers did not allow him to go to his house. Following information, the village sarpanch took him to the government quarantine centre at the Upper Primary School in the village.
The sarpanch said that the youth will be kept in the quarantine for 14 days and undergo a COVID-19 test.
