Bhubaneswar: The last rites of the two jawans from Odisha who were among the 20 soldiers martyred at Galwan Valley along the India-China border following a fatal clash with Chinese troops were performed with full state and military honours on Friday.
Floral tributes were paid to the martyred jawans after their mortal remains reached their native villages by their family members, relatives, and locals.
While Chandrakant Pradhan was buried with military honours at Biarpanga in Raikia block of Kandhamal district, Nuduram Soren was cremated with military honors at Badachampauda village near Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
Notably, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, senior Army officials and others had paid tributes to the jawans after their bodies arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Thursday.
