Galwan Clash: Rajnath Singh Reviews LAC Situation With Top Brass Of Indian Military

New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met senior officials of the Indian Army on Sunday to take stock of the Indo-China border situation.

The meeting is doubly significant as Singh will soon be leaving on a three-day trip to Russia where he will attend a grand military parade at Moscow’s Red Square on June 24.

Sunday’s meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat, Army Chief Gen. MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.

The mood at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), in the Ladakh region, remains tense six days after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a violent skirmish with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.

The war of words, claims and counter-claims over the region have continued even as both sides are scheduled to have another round of military and diplomatic talks next week.
