New Delhi: For the first time ever, a fantasy gaming platform, Dream11, has won the rights for the IPL title sponsorship, replacing Chinese phone maker Vivo.
The four-and-a-half-month deal is valued at Rs 222 crore.
Dream11 has been a co-sponsor in IPL for some years now.
Two ed-tech companies — BYJUs (Rs 201 crore) and Unacademy (Rs 170 crore) came second and third, respectively.
Vivo’s Rs 440 crore per year deal was suspended by the BCCI because of the border stand-off issue between India and China.
