Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi To Contest Maharashtra Elections 2024?

Mumbai: Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently making headlines for issuing death threats to actor Salman Khan, has got an offer to contest elections in Maharashtra this year.

Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Sena (UBVS), registered with the Election Commission of India and the Maharashtra State Election Commission, has asked Bishnoi to contest the 2024 elections.

The party’s national president Sunil Shukla expressed that Lawrence Bishnoi appears as freedom fighter Bhagat Singh to them.

“We see Shaheed Bhagat Singh in you. North Indians coming from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and 5 other north Indian states, who were born and brought up in Maharashtra, who were OBCs, SCs and STs, have been deprived of reservation only because their ancestors were North Indians. If India is a unit, then, why are we deprived of this right?” said Shukla.

“”We are proud that you are a North Indian born in Punjab and we are a national and Maharashtra state registered political party in the name of North Indian born in Punjab and we are a national and Maharashtra state registered political party in the name of North Indian Development Army, which is working for the rights of North Indians in India,” read the letter.

Lawrence Bishnoi gained prominence after issuing death threat to Bollywood superstar Salman for killing black buck in Rajasthan, which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi’s community.

The Bishnoi gang also claimed responsibility for the murder of former NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Lawrence is currently in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail over his alleged involvement in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
