Koraput: Jeypore police on Thursday seized over one-ton ganja and arrested 12 peddlers including a woman at Jeypore and Borigumma areas in Koraput district.
According to sources, the police have been conducting raids at different places in Jeypore and Borigumma areas since the last three days in view of the upcoming elections.
During the raid today, the police seized over one-ton ganja worth near about Rs 1 crore and three vehicles.
Some ganja peddlers of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are involved in the illegal transportation of ganja from Odisha to other places. The police have started investigation to nab them.
