Ganjam Reports Highest COVID Cases In Odisha, Know Details

Berhampur: Ganjam district reported the highest number of 58 new COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

The new cases included 18 corona warriors, 39 active cases and one with outside travel history, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange informed on Saturday.

Of the 18 corona warriors, seven are from Rangeilunda, two each from Sheragada and Aska and one each from Sanakhemundi, Polasara, Polasara, Buguda, Bhanjanagar, Purushotttampur and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).

Of the 39 active contact positive cases, 10 are from Beguniapada followed by five each from (BeMC) and Polasara, four from Hinjilikatu, three each from Kabisuryangar and Sheragada, two each from Aska and Purushottampur and one each from Chhatrapur, Khallikote, Kukudakhandi, Buguda and Rangeilunda.

Besides, one positive case with travel history to Surat was reported from Purushottampur.

The collector said that all 58 patients are being shifted to the COVID hospital.

Out of a total of 6350 positive cases in Odisha, Ganjam district accounts for 19 per cent cases (1195) of which 376 are active cases and 811 recovered cases.

The death toll in the district went up to nine with a 68-year-old male patient succumbing to the virus on on Saturday.
