Ganjam: In a bid to reduce the staff, focusing on social distancing and help corona warriors, Balaram Sahu, a mechanical engineering student of Roland Institue of Technology, Berhampur, has developed a multi-functional robot to serve food and medicines to patients and also carry medical equipment in COVID hospitals.
The robot can serve food, sanitise as well as serve medicines to patients and take care of their other needs, thereby helping doctors and nurses to carry on with their duties without coming in direct contact with infected persons.
He has used two programming modules – Arduino and wifi, through which anyone can control the robot.
Balaram developed this robot to help frontline COVID-19 warriors such as doctors and other medical staff.
