Mumbai: Known for his work as a choreographer and digital creator, Gauahar Khan’s husband Zaid Darbar is set to step into the world of acting with the upcoming psychological thriller ‘Fangirl’.
The series, set to premiere on the BULLET Microdrama app, will reportedly delve into the darker aspects of influencer culture, online obsession and the pressure of maintaining carefully crafted digital personas.
Having gained popularity through his dance videos and o
nline content, ‘Fangirl’ is expected to showcase Zaid in a far more intense and emotionally layered character.
“Zaid plays Karan, a charismatic influencer hiding behind a carefully curated online persona, as a fan’s admiration spirals into a disturbing obsession,” a source was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Revealing that the actor has already started preparing extensively for the role, the source added: “He has been prepping extensively for Fangirl, and the team is expected to roll with key sequences featuring him very soon. Since the show is rooted in the world of influencers and curated social media lives, the makers felt he naturally fit the part. Everyone involved is excited to see audiences discover a more intense and dramatic side to him through this project.”
The thriller also features Nyra Banerjee, Abhyuday Pandeey and Arya Gautam.
