Genomic Medicine Spotlighted At Scientific Evening In Odisha Capital


Bhubaneswar: 3D Genomix Healthcare hosted a scientific evening on Advances in Genomic Medicine, drawing senior clinicians, oncologists, haematologists, academicians and healthcare professionals to explore the expanding role of molecular diagnostics and precision medicine in patient care.

Founded by Dr Aditya Samal, Dr Nityanada Upadhyay, Dr Arun Mohanty and Mr Sribatsha Rath, the organisation aims to make advanced genomic testing more accessible in Odisha and Eastern India.

CEO Dr Arun Mohanty opened the programme, outlining focus areas such as rare genetic disorder evaluation, personalised oncogenomics, non‑invasive cancer monitoring, chimerism monitoring, pharmacogenomics and metagenomic infectious disease diagnostics.

The event featured distinguished international speakers. Dr Rajyalakshmi Luthra, Professor and Director of Molecular Diagnostics at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, spoke on the Current Landscape of Genomic Testing in Solid Tumours. Dr Sunil Jaiman, Assistant Professor of Pathology at Wayne State University, Detroit, spoke on Perinatal Pathology in the Genomic Era.

Moderated by Dr Chinmaya Pani, Medical Oncologist at Utkal Hospital, the sessions sparked interactive discussions on integrating genomic testing into Odisha’s clinical practice.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Sanjib Kumar Mishra, Director & Senior Consultant, Radiation Oncology, Utkal Hospital, followed by networking and dinner. The programme was co‑sponsored by Shanti Charitable Trust, Chennai.
