Nawada (Bihar): The lure of free sex and money. A hard to resist offer till thousands of people across the country realised they had been scammed.

Some had ended up paying a fortune before the police blew the lid off the “All India Pregnant Job” racket being operated through social media.

The pitch was simple, yet believable. There are young, pretty, married women across the country who want to get pregnant, but their husbands are not “up to it”.

To avoid being branded ‘infertile’, as happens across the country even if the husband’s medical condition is to blame, these women are looking for virile men to impregnate them. They are ready to pay up to Rs 10 lakh in return.

All that an interested person needed to do was pay a fee and register. He would also have to submit his personal details, including Aadhaar card number and photograph. As soon as he did so, photographs of good-looking women appeared.

The “job seeker” would then be tagged with one such pretty-face and asked to pay other charges for hotel accommodation and GST.

The Nawada Cyber Police in Bihar have now busted the cross-country racket that also involved cheap loans, and other fake jobs.

Ranjan Kumar, a resident of Nawada has been arrested, and a minor has been taken into custody on cybercrime charges, as reported by NDTV.

The “All India Pregnant Service” was a real scam wrapped in a job and loan offer. The scamsters used several misleading pitches, like ‘Playboy Service,’ and offered cheap loans using names like ‘Dhani Finance’ and ‘SBI cheap loans.’ Fake advertisements with these phrases were shared on Facebook and WhatsApp to attract potential victims.

According to the police, the accused promised Rs 10 lakh to men to impregnate childless women. Even if they failed, they were still assured that they would get half the money. The potential victims were sent photos of female models and were lured with the free sex offer.

Believing that it was an easy way to hit a million, many lost their savings. Fearing social stigma, they didn’t approach the cops or inform anyone, in most cases.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Kumar and detained the minor. Four mobile phones used in the fraud have been recovered, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Dhiman said.

A case has been registered under related sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.

According to the police, several such cyber fraud incidents have been uncovered in the Nawada district earlier.

A similar modus operandi was followed in the previous incidents, with the victims being blackmailed and extorted. Several accused were arrested. But it did not stop, with the ‘pregnancy job’ remaining a pitch that still lured men of all ages looking for quick money and sex.
